Within the framework of the “Voices of Women” project, Al-Haq Foundation for Human Rights implemented a series of psychological and legal support activities targeting women survivors of violence, families of victims of enforced disappearance, and women from vulnerable groups.

These interventions aimed to respond to the psychological, social, and economic pressures faced by women as a result of ongoing insecurity, limited livelihoods, and the long-term impacts of armed conflict. Many of the beneficiaries have lost their main breadwinners, forcing them to assume additional family and financial responsibilities, often in unsuitable working conditions.

The activities included individual and group counseling sessions, field visits, and online support mechanisms designed to improve mental well-being, enhance confidence, and build coping mechanisms for daily challenges. In parallel, legal assistance sessions were conducted to raise women’s legal awareness and support them in pursuing justice, securing documentation, and reclaiming their rights.

Overall, these interventions sought to create a safe and supportive environment that empowers women to express their needs freely, engage in community and capacity-building activities, and strengthen their economic and social resilience

The activities provided psychological and legal support to 84 women, including 15 who benefited from both services. Through group and individual counseling sessions, participants reported improved emotional stability, self-confidence, and coping skills.

Legal consultations helped raise awareness of women’s rights, particularly concerning documentation, inheritance, and protection from violence. Feedback from beneficiaries highlighted a sense of relief, trust, and empowerment, as well as greater willingness to participate in community activities, training workshops, and livelihood initiatives.

The interventions created a safe and supportive environment for women to express their needs and challenges, contributing to enhanced psychosocial well-being and legal empowerment within their communities.
